Welcome.
If you’re reading this, that must mean one of two things: (1) you’re curious about what an FCN coordinator is or (2) you want to know what it takes to be an FCN coordinator.
Perfect, because this website is designed to point you in the right direction!
As the 25th FCN coordinator, I took it as my personal duty to define what an FCN coordinator is. What is their purpose? What is expected of them?
The whole purpose of this website is help you run your production to the best it can be and still be sane at the end of it all. Every year, a coordinator gets their fair share of criticisms, disappointments, uncooperative or overly critical participants and viewers. A coordinator may break down, release a surge of anger they thought knew they had, or question their own ability to run a production. Fortunately, a coordinator can also receive praise, raving reviews and compliments, or a bouquet of flowers at curtain call.
I hope to inform you of the history of FCN, the written and unwritten rules of a coordinator, and tips to being as effective as you can be. With the right mindset, preparation, implementation and evaluation, I can guarantee that you will throw a very fulfilling production.
In addition to my observations, my research was based on the interviews of eleven coordinators. I want to thank Jonathan Valdez (2009: Getting to Know You), Jhoselle Padilla (2008: More Than Words), Desiree Cuison (2007: Malakas Na Puso), Mitz Carian (2006: Live. Love. Be), Alex Mina (2005: With Honor), Angelic Cabos (2004: The Fool, the Smart and the Wise), Joseph Villafuerte (2003: Para Sa Akin), Joel Judal (2000: The Revolution Will Not Be Televised), Ryan Riddle (1999: Farewell, My Adored Land), Maria Macum (1993: Discover the Treasure Within) and Rudy Rullan (1986) for taking the time to share their wisdom and experiences with me. You’ve all offered me valuable advice and inspiration in hopes that I’d run this production to the best of my ability.
Now, with an open mind and a thirst to do your best, I offer this Web site to be read, critiqued, revised and handed down For Generations to Come.
Sincerely,
Jen Amos
